The U.S. Government launched a new website to help public and private organizations defend against the rise in ransomware cases! StopRansomware.gov is a whole-of-government approach that gives one central location for data breaches, malware removal tools, cybersecurity guidance documents, helpful links on how your organization can protect itself from attack--and even what steps you should take if it's attacked by cybercriminals who have encrypted all of its files and demand money before they'll decrypt them again (which is called "ransomware"). We encourage everyone with an email account or computer at home to use this new site as their go-to resource for minimizing risk exposure during these dangerous times when so many people are being victimized by ransomeware attacks.

The StopRansomware.gov webpage is an interagency resource that provides our partners and stakeholders with ransomware protection, detection, and response guidance that they can use on a single website. This includes ransomware alerts from CISA as well as the FBI's most recent report in order to help you protect your data against ransomeware attacks.

The StopRansomware.gov team looks forward to growing the website with more information and resources, partnering with other government agencies working on this problem too.
